Outstanding circa 1910 platinum and diamond necklace featuring 60 European round cut diamonds in hand-forged platinum bezels, connected by half links. The diamonds graduate from approximately 1 carat at the center to 0.34 carats at the ends, totaling around 27 carats. The diamonds are well-matched in color (G-H) and clarity (VVS1), with the necklace measuring 17 1/4" long. The old European cuts are slightly thick, and the clasp has been replaced with a 14k white gold clasp. Originally owned by Augusta Rawson Cecil, wife of Adolphe De Bary, the necklace has been passed down through the De Bary family, notable for their legacy in importing Mumm’s Champagne and their historic estate in Florida.
