It is a variant of a nearly identical painting in the collection of the Boston Athenaeum in Roxbury MA.- Marked PWA 1934 RICE SCHOOL on back of board, (Presumed to be Public Works of Art exhibition Boston- Opened April 7th of that year and hung at MIT Architectural Hall.) This was also identified on the tag with a reverse numeral 1.
